Every contract Prime Line Agency places — ballroom couple, salsa duo, or guest entertainer — falls somewhere between $2,000 and $9,000 per month. We don't publish a separate figure per position, because within our niche the range is shaped far more by the specific production, cruise line and contract format than by which of the three positions you're in.
Because cabin, meals and round-trip flights are typically included on top of salary, most artists on cruise ship contracts are able to save a large share of what they earn — living costs on board are close to zero.
Factors
A full resident contract (4–9 months) and a fly-on/fly-off engagement (typically one week on, one week home) are structured and compensated differently. Neither is "better" — they suit different lifestyles and act types.
Every cruise line and land-based production sets its own budget for entertainment. Prime Line Agency negotiates each contract individually rather than applying one fixed rate.
Competition pedigree, show-dance experience, acrobatic ability and stage presence all factor into how a production values a couple or an act.
Theatre, television and touring contracts are negotiated on their own terms and don't follow the same monthly-salary structure as a cruise ship placement.
